I was a little disappointed that this didn’t exactly self inflate the way I expected it to. I read the directions and let it pressurize but it was still a bit limp. We ended up gently blowing into it to inflate it a bit more so that when I laid on it, I wasn’t just redistributing the air around my heavier parts.
That being said, it was still faster and easier than having one that fully needs to be blown up. I also appreciate how lightweight it is and how easy it is to roll up. It feels pretty sturdy, I don’t expect it to wear out anytime soon.

It’s light-weight, folds up easily, and weighs almost nothing. It keeps the cold away from your core.
The pad is adequate for campers as long as you aren’t overweight, aren’t a side-sleeper, and don’t mind your arms hanging off the sides of the mat. It’s not going to keep dampness away from you unless you’re a child or other small person with narrow shoulders.
While the material is easy to clean, the egg carton design makes it a bit challenging unless you’re using a garden hose to spray the dirt out of the nooks and crannies. You won’t want to sleep directly on the mat because that same shape means you’ll tear the nubs if you roll around too much. Put it under a sleeping bag.
You can cut it in half and use it as a camp mat for two large dogs. German Shepherds find it very comfortable to sleep on.

The Good:
-Easy to carry
-Folds up
-Lightweight
-Comfortable
The Bad:
-A bit expensive
The Bottom Line:
I like this Coleman camping pad since it’s lightweight and comfortable. It’s pretty amazing how light this thing is. It is easy to carry around since it folds up. The only negative I would say is that it’s a bit expensive. Other than the price, this is a comfortable and very portable camping pad.

When I picked this up I was surprised how it weighed like nothing. It is on the small side for most adults, but great for the kids. This can easily be unpacked and packed up by the kids and can be strapped to the bottom of there pack for a backpacking trip. Makes it a great option for Scouting where the kids are doing all the setup and tear down. I was pleasantly surprised how how comfortable it is for how thin and light it is. Moving around on the pad I did not feel the hard surface below the pad.

This camping pad is extremely lightweight. You could easily attach it to your backpack and be ready to go. It literally doesn’t add any weight. It folds up super easily. It does add a little bit of cushion. This would be nice for picnics, laying in the grass, a day hike, or even for a night over. I cannot forsee myself using this for more than one night though. It is not very thick and though it does add a little bit of cushion compared to just the bare ground it does not add enough for me to feel comfortable enough to sleep on it for possibly for one night. The fact that it is so light weight does make it great for transportation. I could for see my granddaughter is using this more than any adult. It be great once you lay a sleeping bag and even maybe one more blanket on top of it to give them a little bit extra squash.

I have some physical therapy exercises I do on the floor most days and I had been using a yoga mat for them. But now that I have this pad, I’m finding that I prefer using it. Mats need to be unrolled and then rolled back up after using them. This mat quickly accordions out to be used and folds back up easily when I’m ready to put it away. So I definitely like the convenience.
I also like the comfort this thin pad provides. It’s so thin that I’m a little surprised by how good it feels to lie on it. Of course it’s also intended to be used under a sleeping bag and it’s very good for that as well. It is extremely light in weight, but it is maybe a little more difficult to carry if you’re camping out of a backpack. An inflatable pad is still going to be smaller when space is at a real premium. But I do like this pad quite a bit and am happy to have it.
