I bought these because I thought it looked like a great product that can be compiled into one unit and stored away easy. I like the design on the product however in my opinion it did not work as well as I liked. First off the knife fits into the spork which fits into the spoon. They all come apart when its tipped upside down so this doesnt really work to well when rolling around in a backpack or if you need to store it in a position that is not completely vertical. I had read previous reviews about the spork being super sharp and people having to file them down in order to not cut themselves. For this reason I stayed away from the spork and used the spoon to eat some soup with. It turns out the edges on the spoon were equally as RAZOR sharp as the spork. I ended up slicing my lip open on the edge of the spoon which was not fun for a entire weekend camping trip. I was able to grind the spoon down on a rock enough for it to useable but it was still really sharp. I didnt use the knife at all since the spoon was sharp enough to cut anything I needed to cut. If you buy this, I would suggest filing down the spork and spoon before you set out on your adventure.

A good nice set but, you will need to adjust the crimp on the spoon so they all fit snug together or else they slide apart in your pack.
You can find a quick open keychain that fits through the holes and keeps them together or do what I did and just take a small piece of 550
paracord and tie one end through and make a knot. You should always have some paracord Rothco Type III Commercial Paracord in your pack anyway right? Survival 101

this isn’t a very good product, look for one of the German or Chech surplus Military types. The retainer tabs were loose and the utensils just slide apart. I had to take pliers and re-crimp the the retainer tabs. I expect better quality from a leader in camping products.

Bought some of these many years ago and they next together really well. It seams the tooling they use to stamp these out is wearing out. Bought 2 more sets to add to my mess kit and the new ones don’t nest quite as well. I had to pinch the tabs in a bit on the spoon in order for the tabs to fully engage the fork and knife on both sets.

I bought this set 4 the sole reason of carrying flatware on me at all times so I don’t have 2 b a part of the PLASTIC problem…think of all the plastic crap every time u go thru a drive thru… or at the office etc. Trash which is so unnecessary. Not 2 mention I have guaranteed sanitary flatware on me at all times! It fits right into a pen holder in both my purse & bookbag. So…this was my solution.
I LOVE this stuff. VERY durable and portable! And bonus—the Fork doubles as a Spork so u really get 4 in 3. I can’t tell u how many times they’ve come in handy when there’s been no silverware. And of course in a camping setting, it works as designed. The knife is really nice too, although it’s not super sharp I have cut tough steak with it among other things I was surprised it was able 2 handle nicely.
Highly recommended. May u too, b the GOOD change u wish 2 c in the World!

I must agree with all the criticisms about this utensil set. Fit and finish are poor. It looks like it was distressed rather than finished. It does not nest well. The spork and spoon were too sharp and needed to be filed and sanded. I also did not like the channel handles, they are not comfortable to the hand like flatware should be. The set is stainless, but not good quality, and it is brittle. I bent the tabs to improve the nesting fit and one broke like a casting would. You would be much better off buying one of the “old style” chow sets like the Armed Services and Boy Scouts have used for decades. This set will be in my sustainment bag until I replace it with something better, then it’s off to Goodwill or DAV. I would not recommend this set to anyone. Caveat Emptor!

I used this set for almost 10 years, I recently switched out to just a titanium spork and knife but i highly recommend this set if you’re cooking full meals. The steel is strong and the knife never had a problem cutting through any tough meats. The spoon isn’t so wide that it will cut the sides of your mouth either, an issue I’ve noticed in other camp sets. All together, great utensils, great value, highly recommended.
