   I purchased my first travel trailer in 2017 and needed a grill to go with it. I chose the Sportster because of its small size since rv is a small pod. My pod sits at a seasonal campground where I visit it every weekend and this grill sits outside ready and waiting all season long (April 1 – November 1). It is outside with no cover and stored in a shed during the off season. I have had absolutely no problems with this grill and while the red paint is a bit faded there is no rust and the grill works just as well as the day I bought it. For those who are not seasonal campers, I have one tip for you. Line the drip cup with foil for easy cleanup and do not replace the drip cup when you fold it up and wheel it to your vehicle. The drip cup falls out easily when the grill is folded and could get lost.

   Great portable BBQ. It gets hot real fast and holds temperature very well!
   I use it for camping or tailgating. It folds/unfolds very easily. My only gripe is that you have to be careful wheeling it around when it’s folded up; if you put it on too much of an angle the BBQ drops down. A bunjee cord should solve this problem.

   I bought one of the original Grille2Go back in 2000. I really liked the unit but had a number of short comings including a lot of cheap plastic, a horribly hard to clean grease trap, an igniter that really never worked, and burners that didn’t produce enough BTUs to get a good sear.

   This addresses all of those issues and more. Lightweight, easy to assemble with a touch of patience, it works perfectly. We grilled salmon filets, eggplant, and put some squash slices in a mini wok on it. They all cooked perfectly, the salmon skin was tremendous. Followed the advice of others and never used the “high” setting, it wasn’t needed despite being in a very windy and cool setting. Wheels make it easy to move around. The grease trap will fall out so I just put it in the grille when I close and lock the lid. I bought a stainless steel grille scrubber too, also put in there for storage. Cleaned right up after use, using the stainless steel scrubber while the grille was still warm.

   We can’t wait to use it again. Seriously, give them your money.
   

9. Quick Tips Owning The Coleman Portable Propane Grill Verified Buyer – 11 June 2025

   Looking forward to using this little unit over the winter. I wanted something small to roll out to grill a steak or two and not have to fire up our huge 4 burner behemoth. This looks like just the ticket and plus it uses those little disposable propane cylinders. I put it together in about 20 minutes….by myself and I’m a 65 yr old gal. So if I can do it anyone can. I’d keep the box handy for reference because it was easier to assemble it looking at the box than reading the manual………especially which way to attach the wheels. The wheels have 2 completely different sides and the illustration in the manual doesn’t make it clear which side faces inward and which outward. You need a wrench or pliers for the wheels, but the rest is hand tightening. Spacers were slipped over 2 of the bolts and mine came with the latch already assembled onto one of the legs. Don’t make the mistake that I did and order the COLEMAN “RoadTrip” Grill Carry Case on Wheels. It doesn’t fit this grill. colemandiscount.com has this grill shown under another name….. specifically The Coleman RoadTrip Sport Propane. They are IDENTICAL. But the RoadTrip Grill Carry Case is too small for this unit. *****************UPDATE MARCH 8, 2016********************************* Weather finally broke here in Michigan so I was able to grill 3 Bone in 1 1/4″ Ribeye steaks on 3 different days. I Remove Steaks from fridge 30 minutes before grilling to let it come to room temp. I apply softened butter and seasonings. I Pre-heat the grill on HIGH for 15 minutes. I Sear each side of the steak for 1 minute on HIGH with cover closed, (repositioned the steak at 30 seconds to get that crisscross pattern). With the cover closed, I turn it down to MEDIUM and continue to grill for 3 minutes, then flip to other side and grill for 2min 30 seconds with cover closed. I got a perfectly cooked MEDIUM RARE Ribeye. I’ve grilled 3 steaks on 1 cylinder so far. See photos of how the steaks came out ***************** UPDATE APRIL 23,2016************************************* PROPANE TANK…………… I just emptied my first tank after using it 7 times on Steaks and 1 time on a Salmon Filet. See above for how long I grill steaks for and the salmon filet took approx. 7min 30 seconds. I weighed a FULL tank at 1 pound 15 oz. The EMPTY take was exactly 14oz. I used my kitchen scale. DO NOT GO BY THE WEIGHT PRINTED ON THE TANK. I suggest you measure your first tank and then measure from time to time until you get close to the 14oz mark where mine ran dry.
