   Exactly what I needed to replace the plastic hinges that broke on my Coleman cooler. Didn’t need to do anything special to make them fit. Just off with the old and on with the new! IF I had another Coleman cooler I would preorder and replace the plastic hinges right away but since I don’t I suspect I won’t need to order anymore.

   If your screws ripped out of the cooler top, this will not help, but if your hinges broke cleanly, definitely recommended. I have 5 coleman coolers lying around, and after years of abuse, most of them have broken the hinges in one way or another. I bought these to replace the cheap plastic hinges they come with, and they are definitely solidly built. If you screw ripped out of the top of the cooler though you are going to need to put a form of drywall or concrete anchor in the top before you put the screws in, otherwise they will rip right out. I used a drywall anchor and some thread lock blue, and now the hinges are indestructible.

   十数年間使用してきたクーラーボックスのプラ製ヒンジが両方ともダメになったので、型番等を慎重に調べた上で、この製品を購入しました。
   それなりに良い値段はしましたが、耐久性はプラ製に比べれば段違いですし、もっと早くに知っていれば、壊れる前に取り替えていたと思います。

   小型冷蔵ボックスの扉の蝶番が弱く破産しました。
   プラッチックの蝶番か金属製の蝶番か、迷いましたが、金属製を購入しました。
   丈夫で良かったです。
   取り付けにビス穴を開ける際、あらかじめ下穴をドリルで開けるとビスが正確に取り付けることが可能です。

   I was replacing stripped screws on a used Coleman extreme 5 day 70 quart cooler. The plastic hinges were going to break, so I did both at once. The steel hinges are a tremendous upgrade and it makes me wonder why they don’t come installed. I used a 5/16″ drill bit and #6 1″ hollow wall anchors from home Depot. Took about 15 minutes total and the difference is quite noticeable.

   I was going to toss my Coleman cooler because the cheap plastic hinges broke. I even bought a new cooler to replace it. Well, for $13 bucks I figured why not try before throwing out the old one? These things worked perfect. Just screwed them into the existing holes. Much sturdier than before. So I cleaned up the cooler and it is functioning like new. And yes, now I have two coolers. All I need is for COVID to be over so I can throw a party with tons of beer on ice.

    The hinges on my Coleman cooler did not fail at the flex point, but the screws pulled out of the plastic. I could have reused the hinges and simply moved them over an inch or two, but I decided to replace with the stainless steel ones instead. The problem that I see is that the screws are simply screwing into very thin plastic. It is extraordinarily easy to over tighten the screw and simply strip it out of the plastic. The screws that pass through the body of the cooler could easily be replaced with through bolts and nuts, however you cannot do this for the ones that screw into the lid so just be very careful when screwing in that you do not over tighten and strip out the plastic. You do not need to drill holes, you can simply just press firmly with your screwdriver and the screws will bite right into the plastic. Once you get them started this way, then be very careful to apply only minimal torque and do not over tighten.

    Item was shipped very quickly. A little expensive, but hopefully worth it if they outlast the cooler. The original and replacement plastic hinges I had got brittle and cracked, but the cooler was still in great shape so I decided to get these stainless steel hinges. The metal gauge was thinner than I would have preferred but it definitely is stronger than plastic. Do not overturn the screws into the cooler or throw the lid open (which is how I broke the plastic hinges) – you may risk stripping the “blocks” the screws are set into.

    I was cleaning my Coleman Ultimate Xtreme cooler and a gust of wind knocked it over and broke the original plastic hinges. I bought these stainless steel hinges to replace them, and they are so good, I wish they would have come on the cooler in the first place. The fit was perfect and installation took less than 2 minutes. Would definitelty recommend to anyone, and I’m very happy with them.

    Our Coleman cooler was in great shape until its plastic hinges gave way. This seems to be a common event. As other reviewers have mentioned, one wonders why Coleman doesn’t use sturdier hinges to begin with.

    In any case, these hinges fit perfectly and took only minutes to install. They appear well made and I expect the rest of the cooler may wear out before these do.

    If you need replacement hinges, I highly recommend spending the few extra dollars to get these rather than another set of plastic hinges.
