- Handle latch is for replacement on Coleman Steel Belted Coolers manufactured after 1999.
- For use on the following Coleman 54 Qt Steel Belted Cooler Model numbers: (6155-707, 6155B707, 6154-703, 6154-720, and 6154B703).
- NOT for use on steel belted coolers made before 2000.
- In combination with Coleman Cam Latch part # 5010005238 (sold separately), it acts as a lock to keep the lid closed. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to attach this part. The white version of this part can be found under Latch Assembly part # 5010005235.

The inside of the latch was plastic & something inside broke so the metal latch wouldn’t secure the lid anymore. This replacement latch fit perfectly & the lid can be secured once again. Unscrewed a couple of screws to get the old one off & a couple new ones that it came with to put the replacement on & in a few minutes we had a working latch again. Our cooler was the 100-year stainless steel anniversary version & it fit perfectly.

Installation was simple, it is an OEM part so it fit perfect. I bought this because the original catch broke. It’s an inexpensive fix for an older cooler that was otherwise usable and has seen a lot of use. It’s only plastic so I can’t comment on the durability but if it breaks again at least I know where I can get a replacement. I put a racing sticker on it and that added at least 10 horsepower, I now have the faster beer cooler in town.
