   Product description is wrong. Ordered a 1.5” shaft length drain plug and received a 1” drain plug. Package says 1.5” but can be clearly seen it’s only 1”. Unable to return so I’ve wasted $9 on something I can’t even use!!

   Have an original Coleman Polylite54 with broken drain plug & cap.
   As can’t be utilises to stores cold foods or hooked fishes, so hunting high & low until scan your’s product for repair replacements.

    I bought this because the stopper broke off on my Extreme cooler. It is the correct fit and mentally easily to install, but the threads are extremely tight. It’s an awkward position that you have to use pliers or some tool to screw it in. I have a stronger than average grip and I could barely screw it down. I might get the after market next time. I even unscrewed it to confirm I didn’t cross thread. Nope. Just super tight.

    I used these plugs on a Rubbermaid cooler, so I had to use a Dremmel to make the hole (both inner and outer) slightly larger. I then used a bolt with 3 half inch nuts locked together to easily secure plug to cooler. Also a hex socket could also be used.

    I used this to add a new drain plug to my Coleman Party Stacker 24 beneath one of the moulded handles. I made a ‘Franken-Cooler’ for sous vide cooking and wanted to add a means to remove the water in a more controlled manner. The wall of the party stacker is insulated and is just under an inch thick. I had two Coleman options – 1” & 1.5” shaft lengths. The 1” shaft Coleman drain plug would only just be visible in the hole especially with the rubber gasket added. More important though is that it is not threaded to the tip. I’m not sure if the ends would connect within the hole and also if there would be enough drain available to close the plug I therefore chose this 1.5” shaft version and it fits great. It sticks out an acceptable amount for me. I drilled a 3/4” hole with a spade bit and needed to whittle it until it could accommodate the width added to the shaft by the gasket.
