   this is the king of lanterns. being someone who used this lantern (nafta version) in the army. these are the same but battery powered. high quality. real glass that is made with no light spots. every detail is the same as the army issue lanterns. even down to the same control dial. very impressed came in perfect condition. it has 7 light modes on it. this gives you options. from lighting up a campsite to reading a book. it has 8 d batteries. but at 300 hours of low light. and about 85 hours of bright light. power is pretty good. that is for such a bright and large lantern. i will be buying a second one. i bought this for nostalgia. but turned out to be the best lantern i have had in civilian life. the fact that the lantern that was shipped to me is army green. with a white Coleman logo. is a bonus.:)

   Uses a large number of d cell batteries but lasts a long time. The dual mantle led look gives it that classic lantern look while being modern. Plus being able to adjust brightness with a dimmer switch is nice, I find most white leds to be too bright but this allows you to turn it down. It’s kind of heavy, which is nice because wind gusts won’t be able to blow it over very easily either.

   I purchased this light to use on camping/ night fishing excursions. I have used it now on several outing and have had great results. It’s light weight, doesn’t require external fuel ( propane, lamp fuel) and has been good on batteries. Decently bright. Seems to be fairly durable considering the housing is plastic, but you get a nice size to weight ration because of this. It’s a very easy to use light, my young children are able to manipulate the functions. And over all a good value for the money!

   One desire for this product would be the ability to cast the direction of the light a little better, similar to how the fuel lamps have the reflecting shield to guide the direction of the light.

   I have a similar lantern that I purchased from colemandiscount.com around 3-years ago. It stated a 5-year warranty on the colemandiscount.com website but Coleman claims that it is all a 1 year warranty. See attached chat. They refused to honor it unless you have the manual for it which I definitely wasn’t aware that I have to keep the manual for warranty sake.

   Like the lantern I use it for fishing, just like the old gas ones, the first thing to do is make a reflector, look online you will see they cover about half the lantern and direct the light away from you, I used doubled up tinfoil, take your time make it just the right size and then use duct tape, just a half inch of the tape needs to be on the plastic, the rest on the tinfoil, I cant stand the light in my eyes, whether making coffee on the campstove, or fishing I get my batteries at dollar tree, 8 heavy duty D batteries for 4 dollars. Heavy Duty batteries are a lot less likely to leak ( Than alkaline batteries ) if they are sitting in the lantern for a couple of seasons, and being LED they still last a long time.

    I’m sure this lantern is just as good as my silver version that goes from 100 to 580 lumens. I love it. I used it a lot in my tent. I hung it in the center and didn’t have to worry about fumes or burning a hole in my ceiling. I so want another one like the one in the photo but I can’t find one anywhere, new or used, Ebay included. Coleman needs to bring it back.

    All Colman products are amazing, and have never let me down. I like the look of this lantern, reminiscent of old days gone where we used oil lamps. It was bright, adjustable, and didn’t use too much battery power. It would be cool to do away with the D batteries and just make the base a rechargeable battery pack tho!

    Das ist eine richtig große und tolle Lampe für nostalgisch angehauchte Coleman Fans. Trotz viel Kunststoff ist die Lampe schön anzusehen. Die Erinnerung an die alten Coleman Benzinlampen, von hat mich persönlich zum Kauf bewogen. Die Helligkeit ist zwar nicht überwältigend, aber akzeptabel und für einen Bereich von 3-5Metern sehr gut. Für einen regelmäßigen Betrieb der Lampe sollte man sich am besten Akkus zulegen, Mit Batterien wird es ansonsten zu teuer. Ich betreibe die Lampe mit 8 Ansmann Akkus Größe D mit 8500mAh, damit klappt alles, und die Lampe leuchtet tagelang durch. Die Lichtregelung der Lampe mit dem Drehregler kommt mir etwas ungenau vor. High und Low sind Okay. Aber alles dazwischen ist nur ungenau einzustellen. Alles in allem eine Top Lampe für Nostalgiefans die wohlwollend über kleinere Nachteile hinwegsehen können und wollen.

    I have other Coleman Lanterns that are brighter but these Classic Green Lanterns are the best, with a perfect balance of light on both High and Low settings, These come in to their own when Camping or Power Outages or Living off Grid, or Base Camp and the list goes On, I have had my eye on these for about 6 months or more then I finally ordered one and the very next day I ordered a second one just for luck, These are a Big Lantern standing at almost 14″ High but for Power outages and Off Grid or as a Work Light these are perfect and having a proper handle with the Classic Coleman design makes this Lantern the Go To Lantern, My smaller Coleman lanterns work well in a cramped vehicle or working in confined places but for everything else the Coleman 390L is the one I always want to use, The Coleman Duel Fuel Lanterns are Timeless but around Kids and Pets or in enclosed spaces this Coleman Classic Twin LED is by far the safer option with zero fumes or odour or CO2 etc these are the way forward, As for the Run Times I have not tested it yet but my other coleman Lanterns are meant to last up to 200hrs I get over 270 hours using standard run of the mill batteries So Coleman claim the 390L will run for 299 hours but I am thinking that number might be close to well over 350 hours, This one is a Keeper for sure and by far my favourite of all lighting solutions, WTG Coleman.
