At $2.00 per four stakes, this is a great deal. Local stores seem to always want to charge me $1.00 per stake, so when I saw these on colemandiscount.com I picked up $20 worth. I’m replacing all of my cheap, thin, bent, weak tent stakes with these. I have had some of these for years, and while people say the plastic is “prone to breaking”, I’ve found that to be slightly unfair. The plastic will break if you run this stake all the way into some thick ground and then try to pry it out by just the tab, but if you use it correctly and leave a good couple of inches above ground (remember to run it in at an angle so the metal shaft itself is what holds the tent in place instead of the plastic end) then you can pull it out easily and they’ll last for a good long time.
I’ll never use those old cheap stakes again. I love these things and think that anyone who owns a tent should immediately purchase some to replace all of their crap included tent stakes. Your other option is to just buy a bunch of these really large nails and bend them into the L-shape of a typical tent stake, but it’s a lot less work to buy these.

I tested and researched pegs for such a long time and these really do the job WELL (They are pretty highly rated in the camping reviews all over) and are worth the price.
They are strong enough that rocks won’t break or bend them, the plastic hooks will not break when being hammered hard or pulled on. Their length makes them very solid in the ground. I tried many configurations : Tent, mosquito net, A-Frame tarps of many sizes, in rainy conditions, strong winds, in sandy grounds, lawns, gravel. They will hold just about anything if you know how to stake them right.
Their only downside is because they are long ; if you use these on a public campground, make sure you know where the underground plumbing / electrical is because they will go right through.

These are awesome tent pegs. I have a dead blow hammer for putting these in. Ever since we broke our awning due to a freak wind blowing through the camp site where we were, we decided to get some quality pegs. After reading a few reviews and watching videos, we decided these are what we needed. Since buying them, we’ve had a few instances of gusts of wind trying to lift the awning, but the pegs have held firm. They take a beating, but I think they’ll last longer than the cheap dead-blow hammer I bought
