   We were able to get one propane tank on with slight difficulty and the light was great but when it was time to replace the propane tank, it was impossible to screw one on. The threads on the lantern are defective. After two and one-half hours over three days all I got was frustrated, silvery powder and darkness. I had a second person try and he was unable to get the propane tank screwed on either. I used three different new Coleman brand propane tanks. I’ve tried sending a message to Coleman on the link provided by colemandiscount.com but every time I get it completed and hit send, the site says there are “technical difficulties “ and to try again later.

   this lantern is 1/10th of the volume of any of the “deluxe” versions. it is so much quieter. it is 95% as bright, if not 100%. the peace and quiet of this lantern makes it my go-to. i just wish it was in stock. hoping coleman isnt discontinuing it.

   main gripe is the “pack”/”case” it comes with seems to open easily when you dont want it to, and is a pain to open when you want it to.

   I take this car camping and it’s an amazing lantern for our camp sites. We set up two on opposite sides of the camp site and it allows everyone to be seen and the site to be beautifully lit up. A single one pound canister works fantastic for several camping trips. We usually have them set up for about 4 hours every night and it lasts about six nights on full blast. It’s easy to pack away and keeps the glass safe. It’s easy to light the lantern with the electrode and comes with a great base that can stand the lantern up or hang it on a nail with the handle.

   Works fantastic and I haven’t had any issues with the lantern starting or in storage

   Always get extra mantels

   We had an older Coleman LP lantern that was not taken care of an rusted. This is a great replacement from a trusted brand in Camping gear!

   We use it on top of an LP distribution pole attached to a 20 LB tank. Great for lighting up the camp kitchen, or later moving to the table for light to eat by.

   Stows away nicely.
   Easy to replace the mantels if need be.

   Very happy to have this at scout camp!

   I broke the glass globe to the slander found out the Coleman didn’t offer replacement for it checked everywhere could not find a globe for it I found out one of their other globes were close enough to where it works just a little shorter in height but I wrote a pretty nasty review since then Coleman ended up replacing the lantern with a brand new one so I got to take back the nasty words I said about them they did end up coming through

    Was using this thing while camping when suddenly flames shot out from under it, engulfing the entire lantern in flames. Shut off the propane, and had no choice but to watch this lantern melt until there was nothing left but metal bits and the cracked glass. This lantern is unsafe to use. If you are going to use it, DO NOT use it near anything flammable, and make sure you can extinguish it quickly without damaging anything or anyone nearby. AVOID!!!

    I use this to illuminate my 12×16 foot hunting camp and it provides plenty of light for that space. I really like the self-lighting feature which does away with removing the glass and using a lighter to get it going. Then only thing that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is that I found the run time to be far below the advertised run time. Even on the medium setting I only get 4-5 hours of run time, perhaps 6 hours at most. Regardless of that I am very pleased with my purchase and much prefer the light provided by this lantern to that of an electric lantern.

    After 30+ years, my Coleman 288 fuel lantern quit working. I decided to get this for ease of use and maybe not having to deal with the wet fuel being left in the lantern. I took it camping the weekend after receiving it and I was happy to find it is literally a plug and play set up. The case is a good design to protect the globe. It’s easy to screw the lantern onto a fuel canister, push the lighter and you’re making light. This is a bright lantern. May not put out what my old 288 did but it’s plenty bright enough for a large campsite (or cookout). Would absolutely recommend

    I am still in shock. Item arrived with sticker “Item damaged. Do not scan.” Broken glass came spilling out. I mean I could understand if it got damaged in transit but to have a sticker already placed that said “Item damaged” put me into shock! That being said the item was in a box that was too small. Just horrible.
