1. honest review of the Coleman lantern rechargeable battery Verified Buyer – 24 July 2024

   I purchased 2 of these lanterns to have on hand for power outages as we live in the boondocks and get frequent power outages due to storms. (someday we will buy a generator!) I wanted something durable and long lasting so was a little disappointed that they are PLASTIC . For approx. $40 ea I was expecting something a little more high end. No where in the description does it say these are plastic…unless I missed it. HOWEVER they work great!!! give off lots of light. … and are lightweight so maybe that is why they are plastic so they are not bulky to carry around. I gave them 4 stars for not listing the material in the description but other than that I like them!

   This lantern was exactly what I expected and wanted, however I am unable to open the battery pack lid! It is WAY too hard to depress the tap to open the lid! I will be breaking nails. So I am returning. Disappointed.

   This lantern is fantastic. We purchased after the last power outage left us searching in the dark for a flashlight. We didn’t want to get stuck in that same situation and we are prepared. This is a bright light with two lighting options. Would recommend 100%

   Purchased one in April of 2019 and it worked great and was pretty solid. So, decided to purchase two more for storms, blackouts, etc. (no camping, just home-stuff). The two just received: not as well made as April; too much plastic and on one the bottom cup where you insert 4 D batteries would not open. I returned this one. The other one was also hard to open but it did with some effort. We kept that one and hope for the best. On positive note: brightness is excellent (has two options) so we will live with the negatives.

    I bought two of these about five years ago. Both still work perfectly. I bought rechargeable D cells so I’d never be without a light. It is well-built, gives off good light, and the light shines for many, many hours. In fact, it has never gone dim on me.

    I keep these units around if the electricity ever goes out. This is a great unit to keep around!
