OK kids, This is not the standard size military issue e tool that military uses. This is more like a gardening tool size e tool. E tool as in entrenching tool. I like that this is small and compact. Keep in mind when camping, you are probably not going to be digging a fox hole with a grenade sump under heavy enemy fire. You do want some form of small shovel in your bugout bag to dig a small fire pit in a survival situation and this little guy is very well suited for this task. For a survival fire you need a shallow pit with a small diameter so you can keep your fire under control so you don’t torch the entire forest. This little shovel with help you make this type of fire pit. Then when you break camp, you can back fill the hole like a good boy scout. This shovel meets my specifications and needs for my gear. The pouch will fit on a standard G I ISSUE pistol belt with ease or just leave it in your bugout bag. You want compact and light weight tools in a bugout bag so consider this tool for that reason.

Worked super when packing in back country. In off season I leave in my vehicle for emergencies and it does not take up a lot of room.
Don’t make a mistake paying more than you need to on items that have way more bells n whistles than you need. For example, a shovel with a knife, saw kit and compass… it’s just sacrificing weight and quality of all the items. It’s not as though you’re going to pull out the little compass on the shovel to navigate the trail when you’re lost, right? No, you’ll use one of two things, your fancy app watch/gps device or a traditional compass and a map.
So avoid the BS marketing and get this shovel because I’m confident you’re purchasing a shovel to dig a hole to drop a number two in the bush.
Happy poops people!

Very expensive for a shovel, but it’s really good. I’ve used the cheaper iron ones before, and this one is much stronger and is quite useful for a variety of purposes. If you’re looking for something to take with you outdoors, then this one is definitely worth the money.

I was surprised by how small this tool is. I guess I should have read the description more closely. But once I started to use it the tool worked just fine. It is nice and compact, sturdy enough to do some light digging and felt good in the hand. Now you wouldn’t want to try and dig a ditch with it, it isn’t that sturdy, but an occasional hole would be fine. It performed fairly well in my hard Carolina clay soil, but not nearly as well as a dedicated hand pick. That isn’t a criticism, the tool isn’t designed for heavy digging. But it does what it needs to – some light digging on a camping trip or in the garden.

Great poo shovel. Does the job nicely. Doubles as a squat height cane while doing the deed. You know the name of the game. Leave no trace.

Bit smaller shovel head than I was expecting, but makes it compact and convenient size, folds up to fit in bag. Seems to be quite sturdy and does the job.

It will do the job I purchased it for, but it came with a warning about lead-based paint hazards. I had a Coleman folding shovel before and it didn’t look like this one. The new version is covered in thick black paint. I assume the warning is because it is lead-based paint and can chip off during use.

Very happy with this product that comes with a smooth finish and looks good enough to be able to do its expected jobs. The small size is appreciated since it would just be apt both to remove snow from say, the windscreen of my Jimny to say, the loose sand in front of its tires (when stuck in a hole)! Many thanks from India 🙂
