   I have a Queen size Coleman air mattress that when fully inflated is about 13 inches tall, and this air pump inflates the mattress very fast! The nice thing is, by switching the hose to another port on the pump, it will also deflate the mattress pretty quickly as well.

   I think the only downside to this pump is that it is LOUD!! It’s easily as loud as any vacuum cleaner.

   I just wish Coleman had put a twist and lock connector on the mattress, that would be nice.
   However, I think they didn’t put one on for safety reasons.

   But if you can tolerate the noise from the pump for a few minutes, you’ll be ok.

   Having a pool for 30+ years I’ve gone thru lots of pumps for inflatables thru the years. The brand name COLEMAN drew me to this one. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a Coleman product that I wasn’t satisfied with. This one is no exception. Not expensive, a tad noisy – but blows up the inflatables as quick or quicker than anything I’ve ever had. I’ve had plenty of lemons thru the years – that made tons of noise while barely pumping air. This Coleman makes quick work of blowing up inflatables. Happy Camper Here !

   Before settling on this Coleman pump, I read through so many reviews (good and bad) on so many pumps. I needed one for a big job as the item I was trying to air up was known to take a very long time. I will say upfront that I can be a little impatient and knowing this about myself… I wanted something that will get the job done in a timely manner. Some people want a quiet machine but complained about the power on many other types of air pumps. When I came across this Coleman pump, the common theme was it was noisy but powerful. If you ever watched Tim the Tool Man… this would be his pick. I was overjoyed with the power this little machine has. It had my item completely blown up in no time. I also was able to take it down in record time too. Is it noisy? YES! I could spend 5 minutes blowing up something that is noisy or 45 minuets trying to air up something quietly. For me the answer was easy. Coleman is a great product.

   So, when I needed to use the unit with the hose attached, the hose came off of the support neck. I attempted to put the hose back onto the connector tube, no luck, it will not easily go back on. I am extremely upset over the fact that this has fallen apart. Very disappointed in this unit.

    Understand that the loud part is subjective. All high-speed air pumps are LOUD. Some more than others…but they are all loud. Thankfully with this being a 120 volt pump, the time it takes to inflate our camping air mattress (Alps queen size, 54x80x6) takes less than one minute. Deflate time is about the same.

    This is replacing an OLD Coleman 6 volt rechargeable pump that worked amazing well for 20 years. So the fact that this new one requires household type power may limit some folks, but for us it is great. It is actually much smaller and lighter than the old Coleman. The extension hose is soft and flexible and everything fits together well. So far…very satisfied. Oh…did I mention it was loud! 🙂

    This pump is small and light enough to pack in our luggage and take with us when we travel. As a family with several young children, sometimes someone will want to sleep on the floor even if we book hotel rooms with ample beds (two beds, roll-aways, pull-out sofa). It’s just how kids are. We also bring a Coleman inflatable mattress and with this pump, it only takes a few minutes before there is another soft surface for someone to sleep on. The pump works in reverse in that when it’s time to leave, it will deflate the mattress just as quickly. This is a must-have whether you camp or travel.
