   I wasn’t impressed with this canopy. It uses a pagoda-style roof that hangs beyond the legs by about a foot on all sides, and this leaves the expanding crosses along the sides totally unsupported in the center and they wobble in and out. On other canopies where the cover runs down the side a foot or so, it has little loops along the cover that go around the expanding criss-cross part and help keep its shape square. With nothing to stabilize those sections, they sway quite a bit in the wind. When I lift and carry this to adjust the placement after expanded, it feels unstable. It feels like it could bend the wrong way if I’m not careful. With this canopy, it doesn’t feel stable without she support lines staked in the ground. I wouldn’t use this standing alone on pavement. It needs those lines taut to keep the top from twisting in the wind. It has a single wind vent in the roof, which helps, but I didn’t like the way this was moving under light 10-15mph winds. In its favor, this comes with a really nice carry/storage bag. It’s a bag that’s made to last years, and will probably outlive the canopy in most cases. The roof style, while less versatile, has the advantage of being much better in the rain. This roof stays taut and sheds water well, it doesn’t pool and leak in slack spots. The rain rolls off the sides better, and with the roof extended beyond the legs, it feels like there’s more coverage. The big buttons on the legs are much easier to operate than the old metal buttons that would hurt my thumbs. These click readily and unclick with ease. I wouldn’t pick this one if you can’t drive stakes for the support lines where you use it. I have enough trouble finding a 10×10 clearing in the trees without having to accommodate for diagonal lines that extend another 10’ or so. The lines can be adjusted in length and don’t have to be perfectly diagonal if there’s a tree in the way, but bushes in the way was a problem for me. I did no lines at first and that was way too unstable. Two lines was better, until the wind picked up. I could only fit a third, and that was enough to conclude these lines are not really optional. The center snap mechanism keeps the top taut, and it’s more reliable than the old kind that doesn’t lock, but it’s not the easiest one like this I’ve used, it takes more effort to release.

   Nice, slightly unique design that is a bit different from your typical pop-up tent with an overhang on the edges. The design makes it look more high-end. Also worked better in the rain than the typical pop-ups because the top is so taut. The frame was a little too flexible for my liking, but it seemed sturdy enough.

   We used the Walmart ones for a long time and decided to try Coleman. Second use of it the pole broke. I’ve emailed them to see what they will do but it broke for zero reasons. It looks beefier than the Walmart ones but clearly it isn’t. Hopefully they send me a new one or I’ll be upset

    Staked and guyed down this 10×10 pop-up withstood 4 days of 20mph sustained winds with 40-60mph gusts! Fully expected it to tear or buckle, but it didn’t and I’m fully impressed with this thing. One small downside: It’s not easy to set up with one person.
