   So far, so good. It arrived in one piece, packaged securely. Easy to install, it measures 4-3/8″ high x 4-1/8″ diameter. A genuine Coleman part, it says on the globe: “Made in China for Coleman – Globe No. 288C0431415”. If you have the right globe for your lantern, it should fit snugly and not rattle around. You might need to adjust the thin metal hold-downs on your lantern slightly. See the photo attached for the lantern models it fits.

   I was hesitant to buy the clear lantern globe at first because there are so many different types of Coleman lanterns. It was really hard trying to find the model number for the lantern and the globe. I did and I am so glad. We accidentally broke our parents globe and wanted to replace it without buying a whole new lantern. The globe fits perfectly and it was shipped with protective wrapping around it (another concern was that I would order it and it might be broke on arrival). It was cheaper than ordering it from the Coleman website (I am including tax and it came super fast). Hopefully we won’t break any more globes, but if we do I know where to get a new one!

   We have an older propane lantern that I mistakenly didn’t close correctly the cover for it and when I picked it up, the bottom fell out and the glass on the lantern broke. I almost threw it away and then thought I would look for the glass lens on colemandiscount.com and of course they had one. It fit perfectly, a reasonable price and I still have a lantern to use. Would definitely buy it again.

   Perfect Fit! This glass was purchased to replace the German glass that was originally supplied when I bought the lantern in 2006. The fit is perfect. This replacement is made in China. Minus 1 star because the glass is thinner and does not appear to be as sturdy and high quality as the original German glass. However I am happy with it and gave 4 stars because it fit my lantern, it’s stamped “Coleman” and I trust their products, and the price is reasonable. Note: the original glass cracked due to too rapid heating (my failure to wait for the glass to warm gradually before I turned up the propane). With the thinner more delicate glass, I would be extra careful lighting/ heating. Go slow with turning up the propane, and don’t expose the glass to sudden temperature changes. Hoping with proper care this glass lasts.

    Looks the part and sold as Coleman item. I have a frosted glode on Coleman 285 lantern right now. A clear glass allows you to inspect the mantles prior to lighting the lantern whilst you need to dismantle the lantern to inspect the mantles prior to lighting with a frosted globe.
