   Mine points north just fine. Have had no issues with it and the glow in the dark arrows help when it gets dark. It was a great teaching tool for my kids.

   very nice compass, I used it for teaching my lady friend on how to use one on a topographical map, all the while I had with me a very expensive compass, I showed her what to do, how to operate one, and off we went on a 30mile hike, camping, on the trails, she brought us out of the woods just as I planned, it worked very good, she now carry’s it on every hike, I recommend this compass for those who want to learn, its less money than the one I bought, and does the trick,

   It’s a fine compass, except; the red arrow on mine didn’t point north. The polarity was reversed and it pointed the oposite direction of all the five other compasses I compared it too. Spend a little more money and get a Suunto or a Silva.

   I got mine at Wal-Mart so it was no issue returning it.
