   It feels sturdy, and the inside is smooth so should be easy to clean, as for durability, I haven’t really put it to the test. What I am interested in is how well it handles heat. I plan to use it as a mash tun to make beer, fingers crossed.

   The quality of this cooler is excellent. The handles are well made and can be used two ways, straight up, or on their side. The lid makes a seal so tight that it takes a bit of pressure to open. It’s built sturdy enough for an adult to easily sit on without disrupting the integrity of the lid. Filled with ice and soda, this cooler kept things ice cold for over 12 hours on an 80 degree sunny day at the beach. The last of the ice melted at around 6 hours and stayed cool for a lot longer. Only con to this cooler was that I found it for a lower price at my local supermarket after I had purchased it from colemandiscount.com. So my advice would be to shop around a bit before buying, but it’s absolutely worth the purchase.

   The size and weight is perfect to carry around, and although it DOES NOT have a drain, it still works great. I bought it to paint for my boyfriend and it is perfect for that (after a lot of sanding).

   Because it’s an insulated box, I actually purchased this cooler to convert into a winter shelter for a feral cat that hangs out in our backyard. So, the reviews mentioning the weak handles and lack of drain didn’t concern me. However, the lid is ridiculously hard to open, even though there’s no latch or anything keeping it shut other than gravity. Both my boyfriend and I had a tough time repeatedly trying to open the lid. Also, like other’s mentioned in their reviews, the lid slams shut the minute you let it go, which will be annoying whenever I have to clean out the cooler. If I was using it as a cooler, the lid slamming shut while putting in food, drinks or ice would be a pain in the butt. If you’re looking for an inexpensive cooler to use every now and then, this will probably work fine for you, but if you plan on using a cooler frequently, I’d keep looking. I expect better quality from an item with the Coleman name.

   Great Cooler!!! Took it for camping trip for a little more than a week. My friends had to keep buying ice for their coolers while my ice took 3 days to completely melt. This was by far the best cooler their and surprise everyone how cold it kept things. Highly recommend it!

   This is a replacement for the same ice chest we got many years ago. Seems to be the same great Coleman quality. The only difference is that the old one had a convenient tray to keep small things out of the water or from being crushed down inside the chest, this one didn’t have that. The hinges are such that the lid closes as soon as you let go, which is a little annoying when you’re trying to load/unload, but I think that may improve over time and use when the hinges are ‘loosened up’ so the lid balances better and doesn’t slam shut the second you let go. Kept everything nice and cold. I’m sure this will last for many years as the last one did. We like this size as it is large enough to hold what we need but is not so huge that it is difficult to carry and fits well in our van.

    I bought 3 of these for an upcoming BBQ we are having. The quality and price are great! The handles make it super easy to carry. The lid closes and seals perfectly to keep the cold inside. The 48 quart size easily accommodates 25+ soda cans! Great deal!
