I am not sure why this reviewer had such problems with the helmet cam, because we love it. We use it for horse back riding attached to a helmet, and it takes amazing HD video. You have to se the quality, and the sound is a bit muffled, but its also house in a waterproof, dust proof, case that would muffle sound. You can take the camera underwater, so this is probably why it is muffled. We attach it to the top of the helmet, and it works great. One you figure out the controls, small learning curve, it is very easy to stop one video, and start another. It all depends on the size of the Micro SD. We use a Mac and it loads on the desk top without software as a disk. You just open the files, and the video is there in a very usable format. This camera is the best that I have used, and I have used a few!
This is a link of a video we took with the cam.

I first tried a friend’s GOPRO. There were features that I did not like about the $298 camera so I thought i would try the Coleman. First good feature is excellent video quality. Second is low light reaction. very fast. It is a very light unit, about 2 ounces. has good mounting hardware. When it comes to operation is where problems show up. First display is extremly small and not all of the display icons work all the time. You will constantly be resetting the modes. There is supposed to be an audible signal to tell when the power on button has been pressed. It is so faint you have to unclip the unit and visually make certain you have power. There is supposed to be 3 minute delay before auto power off but mine was always 52 sec. The large button starts the film rolling and again the audio signal is so weak that most of the time you cannot hear it so you don’t know if recording has acutally started. Audio recording is terrible. At 45 mph on skis the noise is horrific with a lot of clicking even at slower speeds. I have had this unit in for repairs twice in one year and am waiting on it now just as a ski trip is about to begin. I guess that at $119 compared to $300 i should accept that you get what you pay for.

This camera is not 1080P full HD. It dose have 1080 line and they may be progressive scan, but it’s only 1440 wide, not the 1920 standard for 1080P or full HD. It also uses a proprietary clip mount and has NO 1/4-20 typical camera mount hole.

Got this camera for going motorcycle riding. Figured out how to use the straps and mount it looping it thru the back top of my visor. Got it to fit snug and securely, even crashed and yet it stayed in place. Video quality is good, clear, not setup for full widescreen so you’ll have the black edges on the left and right side of the screen but who cares! For the quality and for the money it’s a great action cam. Just make sure you charge it and have the SD card in the slot before you take off
